Senior Accountant or Manager
Job description:
We are seeking an experienced accountant who has previously worked at a public accounting firm. The level of candidate we are seeking for this position should have reached the position of "Senior Staff Accountant" or "Manager."
We prepare approximately 400 sets of financial statements each month and we need a knowledgeable, reliable professional to help us meet this goal in a timely manner. If you know your way around accounting software packages (Creative Solutions and QuickBooks would be a plus) as well as Microsoft Excel, and have experience working with general ledgers and/or write-up work - you would be qualified for this position. Ultimately, you would be responsible for training, overseeing and reviewing the work of staff accountants, as well as communicating with firm clients.
Knowledge of the tax law and prior experience preparing individual, business and trust tax is also required for this position. You will be involved in planning, tax return preparation, consultative services and other special projects. The ability to recognize tax issues and resolve them on your own will be a key towards your advancement within our firm.
Requirements:
Prior work experience in the accounting and tax area is a must! We are not looking to hire recent college grads at this time or those from other industries without a public accounting background. Please do not apply to this advertisement unless you meet our criteria.
Proximity to our Deerfield office is also required. We are located just minutes off of Lake Cook Road and the 294 Tollway. Please be sure you are able to commute to and from our office in a reasonable time considering distance, traffic patterns and most of all - road construction!
Finally, we are a paperless accounting firm working with the latest network software and hardware, including dual screen monitors. You must be comfortable working in this type of environment.
