Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel employs certified public accountants, tax specialists and information technology professionals to assist you. Below are some of our key managers.

  • T. Caryl Aronson

    Mrs. Aronson is a manager in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd.  She graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and received her CPA soon after. Caryl started working for CTM in 1982, shortly after she graduated. Aside from her many years experience working with various small to mid-size businesses, Caryl also spent 10 years as a controller for a multiple store franchise owner.  Her background as a controller adds a unique back-office perspective.

    Mrs. Aronson advises clientele in a variety of engagements including tax advice, projections and planning, monthly and year-end compilation and review statement preparation and personal, business, trust and not-for-profit tax return preparation.  She also represents clients during IRS audits in addition to sales tax, workman’s comp insurance, personal property and employment tax audits.

  • Lorena Berndt

    Mrs. Berndt has been with the firm since 1996. Starting as a receptionist, she currently serves as the firm’s business manager and is knowledgeable in all areas of the firm's administration.

  • Laurie F. Olerich

    Email >

    Laurie F. Olerich is a manager in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd.  She obtained her accounting education at Harper College in Illinois. She has over 30 years experience in small business accounting services. Prior to coming to CTM in 1995, she spent several years working in private industry as an accounting manager.

    Mrs. Olerich works closely with a range of clients, helping them with interim and year-end accounting and tax services as well as providing guidance in many aspects of their financial and planning issues. Business and personal tax projections as well as asset acquisition consultations and back-office help are also elements of her expertise.

  • Ken Root

    Ken Root is the Information Technology Manager at Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. Mr. Root was educated at DeVry University, after being recruited by the institution. He majored in Computer Information Systems with a minor in Accounting. He has over 20 years of experience assisting businesses leverage technology to improve their operations. 

    Mr. Root believes technology, when implemented and used properly, enhances everyone’s work experience as well as enables employees to better focus on their individual objectives. His goal is to create a value based technology environment that is easy to manage and understand by all users. He believes that helping people understand how technology can improve their business performance takes away the mystery that often surrounds it.

    Mr. Root is a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
