Michael S. Teitelbaum, CPA / Partner
Michael S. Teitelbaum, C.P.A., is a senior partner in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He received his C.P.A. certificate from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Teitelbaum's expertise is providing accounting and financial services to McDonald’s® franchisees and other quick service restaurants, hotel industry franchisees and provides services to a varied group of clients in the janitorial, construction, professionals and distribution industries. In addition to accounting services, he provides business consulting, tax planning, negotiations for the purchase and sale of businesses, valuations and litigation support services. He has been a panelist at many regional McDonald’s® owner /operators meetings and lectured on financial statements presentations, income taxes and preservation of wealth.
Mr. Teitelbaum is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has served as a member of the ICPAS Board of Directors and was past Vice-President. He has served as past Chairman of Illinois CPA Society CPE Council, member of the Operations Committee and Representative of Councils to the AICPA. He was a past President of the North Shore Chapter of ICPAS and has been a volunteer fundraiser for Foundation of Ileitis & Colitis and the American Cancer Fund.

Karyl L. Mandel, CPA / Partner
Karyl L. Mandel is a senior partner in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. Mrs. Mandel was educated at the University of Michigan, Roosevelt University and Oakton Community College. She received her C.P.A. certificate from the University of Illinois.
Mrs. Mandel has served as the Chairman of the Illinois C.P.A. Society Estate and Gift Tax Committees and a member of the ICPAS Taxation Executive Committee and the Board of Directors. She has published numerous tax related articles in professional journals and magazines and has frequently taught tax courses for a variety of organizations. She’s a former president of Chicago Region of Women's American ORT and is a member of National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO). She is also the author of the firm's nationally distributed and widely acclaimed TaxTips newsletter.
Mrs. Mandel has over thirty years experience working with entrepreneurs. Her client base includes restaurant franchisees, manufacturers, athletic and tennis clubs, legal, medical and other professional practices, real estate developers and investors as well as the retail field. She has lectured on financial statement issues as they relate to business operations and tax planning as well as most facets of individual, business and estate taxation. Other areas of her practice include restaurant valuation, litigation support, as well as estate planning. She has been a panelist and guest financial speaker at many McDonald’s® financial and business seminars and owner/operator meetings.
Mrs. Mandel is also a registered investment advisor and licensed life insurance provider. She is listed in five Who's Who publications including Who's Who of American Women and Who's Who in America.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society as well as the Chicago and North Suburban Estate and Planning Councils.

Martin S. Magida, CPA / Partner
Martin S. Magida is a partner in the accounting firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Southern Illinois University.
Mr. Magida has been providing services for small businesses for over thirty years. These services include: estate and tax planning, management advisory services, negotiations with regard to the purchase and sale of small businesses, and “second generation” succession planning.
Mr. Magida has participated as a guest financial panelist at several McDonald’s® owner/operator meetings and with the local chamber of commerce. His litigation support experiences include testimony as an expert witness, assistance to counsel in preparing for depositions and valuations of businesses in the quick service restaurant industry.
Mr. Magida has received a certificate of educational achievement in business valuations from the AICPA. He is currently a volunteer and serves on the board of the Buffalo Grove Recreation Association as the treasurer.
He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He is a co-founder and treasurer of the Networking Group.

Scott P. Weingart, CPA, JD / Partner
Scott P. Weingart, J.D., C.P.A., is a partner in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. He received both his Juris Doctor and Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Weingart's expertise is in the federal income and estate tax area, with an emphasis on tax planning strategies for small business owners. He has clients in many fields, ranging from McDonald’s® franchisees to real estate developers and venture capitalists. The services he provides include, but are not limited to, negotiations for the purchase and sale of businesses, structuring and set-up of business entities, valuation of businesses and representation before the IRS and other governmental agencies.
Mr. Weingart is a member of the following professional associations: American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Illinois CPA Society, American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.

Todd J. Coughlan, CPA / Partner
Todd J. Coughlan is a partner in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accountancy from Northern Illinois University and received his C.P.A certificate from the University of Illinois. Todd has been with CTM since 1997. Prior to joining CTM he had over ten years of experience in restaurant operations.
Mr. Coughlan’s expertise is providing accounting and consulting services to various franchised and non-franchised businesses with a focus on the quick-service restaurant and hospitality industries. In addition to accounting services, he provides business consulting, tax planning and business valuation services.
Mr. Coughlan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society as well as the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce and McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce.

William Chunowitz, C.P.A., is a former senior partner in the firm of Chunowitz, Teitelbaum & Mandel, Ltd., in Riverwoods Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Roosevelt University, Chicago, Illinois. His expertise is in the business planning and consulting area with a strong emphasis in business valuations and support litigation. He has been personally involved in numerous negotiations for the purchase and sale of McDonald’s® restaurants in the past thirty-two years. His litigation support experience includes depositions and testimony as an expert witness, assistance to counsel in litigation strategy and valuations of closely held business interests. He has been a panelist and guest financial speaker at many McDonald’s® financial and business seminars and owner/operator meetings.
Mr. Chunowitz is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He is a recipient of Illinois Society and American Institute of CPA Public service award for Community and Charitable Involvement; Co-Founder and past president of the Chicago Ronald McDonald House; past Vice President and Treasurer of International Advisory Board (IAB) National Ronald McDonald House Program; Past President of McDonald’s® Owners of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana and Board member of Chicago Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities.
