It is with great fondness and respect, we remember former CTM Named Partner Karyl Mandel, CPA who passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2023.  Karyl joined the firm in September 1977, only a few years after its founding.  From the beginning, it was apparent that Karyl was an extremely sharp and business savvy tax professional.  She brought an exacting work ethic that greatly impacted the firm’s longevity and success.  She was dedicated to client service and stopped whatever she was doing to answer a question or address a concern.  She stayed current with the latest tax developments, not only for her professional development, but so she could find the most effective tax planning techniques to benefit her clients.  This level of attention to detail was also shared with colleagues.  From helping a coworker resolve a tricky tax situation to lending an ear for a personal concern, Karyl always showed an interest.  Her colleagues regularly sought out her insightful advice and they appreciated the frankness in her delivery.  After more than 37 years, Karyl retired from CTM in December 2014.

Karyl’s impact on the firm will be felt for generations to come.  Her perseverance and determination have made a lasting impression on CTM’s business philosophy and culture.  We appreciate her years of service and share our deepest condolences with her family.
