We were deeply saddened to learn that our long-time client (and friend) Yolanda Travis passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023.  Yolanda began working with CTM decades ago when she became a Registered Applicant with McDonald’s.  After becoming an approved operator in 2002, Yolanda acquired her first McDonald’s restaurant in South Chicago Heights.  At one point, Yolanda owned up to five McDonald’s restaurants.  Her most recent acquisition was the former Herman Petty location at 65th St & Stoney Island Ave. in Chicago.  Yolanda was so proud to purchase that historic restaurant, originally owned by McDonald’s first African American owner/operator Herman Petty (also a CTM client).

While she touched many people at the firm, Yolanda had a great bond with recently retired Partner Marty Magida.  She also developed close relationships with CTM Partner Todd Coughlan, Supervisor Dan Bogucki, Staff Accountant Donna Williamson and Bill Pay Specialist Robert Mortell. Yolanda was one of the nicest people you could ever meet.  When CTM visited with her, she would always give us a hug.

Yolanda will be greatly missed.  We share our deepest sympathies with her family.
